This policy explains how cookies and similar technologies support the Fish Geek store and how you can control them. Last updated: 5 August 2026.
1. About cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on a browser or device. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels, tags and scripts. They can keep a basket working, remember choices, protect the site and help us understand how it is used.
The Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) require clear information about these technologies and, except where an exemption applies, valid consent before they are used. Personal information obtained through them is also handled under the UK GDPR and our Privacy Policy.
2. Cookie categories

3. Cookies you may see
The exact names can change when WordPress, WooCommerce or another store feature is updated. Typical examples include:

Session cookies expire when the browser session ends. Persistent cookies remain until their expiry or until deleted. We review the technologies used and aim to keep their duration proportionate.
4. Third-party technologies
Store and checkout features are supplied using WordPress and WooCommerce. The payment provider displayed at checkout may set security and fraud-prevention cookies when you use its service. Our hosting, security, email, fulfilment, analytics or marketing providers may also use technologies needed to provide their services.
Following a link to another website may allow that site to set its own cookies. Those cookies are controlled by the relevant third party and are covered by its own policy.
5. Manage your choices
Essential store, account and payment technologies may operate without consent where they are strictly necessary for a service you request. Optional analytics, preference or advertising technologies must remain off until you choose them through the cookie banner or privacy settings where consent is required. Rejecting optional cookies must not prevent access to the store.
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings, but blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop the basket, checkout or account from working.
